Dr Linthoi Akoijam is an experienced Clinical Child Psychologist with over 25 years of expertise in guiding children and adolescents through various mental health challenges. She has worked in diverse array of settings—community clinics, hospitals, schools, and NGOs—across India, Australia, the UK, and New Zealand.
Linthoi’s work is guided and informed by evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Compassionate Focused therapy, Emotionally Focused therapy, Systemic therapies etc. In addition, she provides parenting interventions with a focus on improving relationships between the child-parent /caregiver, tune in to the emotions of children/young persons and manage behaviour/emotion effectively, either on individual sessions or group setting.
She believes working in collaboration with the client and family/caregiver, has a strong belief in the innate nature of human compassion and recognises the importance of not just the biological but socio-cultural influences on the mental health and emotional well-being of individual and families.
