A colonoscopy is a procedure to examine the inside of the colon (large intestine) with a flexible telescope. This is performed to investigate a range of symptoms, such as pain, diarrhea, bleeding or change in bowel habit. During the test, biopsies are taken that helps with diagnosis.

Paediatric gastroscopy/upper GI endoscopy procedure enables the gastroenterologist to examine the lining of the upper part of gastrointestinal tract, i.e. the esophagus (swallowing tube), stomach and duodenum (first portion of the small intestine) for any abnormalities.
During the test, biopsies are taken which are helpful for the diagnosis. Gastroenterologist can also measure certain digestive enzymes (disaccharides) and also identify certain infections like H Pylori.
